Nathan began playing at age four with Langley Minor Hockey and later played for Trinity Western University. After finishing his playing career in 2016, he moved into coaching with Complex Hockey Training and travelled through China coaching goalies of different ages and levels.
His decade-plus of coaching and evaluation includes work with North Shore Winter Club, Burnaby Winter Club, Langley Minor Hockey, and Cloverdale Minor Hockey.
In 2019, Nathan joined the BCHL’s Merritt Centennials as a goalie scout before becoming full-time goalie coach and head goalie scout. In 2023, he joined the Cowichan Valley Capitals as goalie coach and head goalie scout.
